Composition: oxytetracycline hydrochloride 10%

Properties: this product is light yellow powder.

Pharmacological action: Tetracycline antibiotics. By reversibly binding with the receptor on the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome, oxytetracycline interferes with the formation of ribosome complex between tRNA and mRNA, prevents peptide chain from extending and inhibits protein synthesis, so that bacteria can be rapidly inhibited. Oxytetracycline can inhibit both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Bacteria are cross resistant to oxytetracycline and doxycycline.

Indications: for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by sensitive Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Mycoplasma in pigs and chickens.

Usage and dosage: calculated by oxytetracycline. Mixed drink:

Calves, goats and sheep: Twice daily 1 gram per 25-50kg body weight for 3-5 days.

Poultry: for 1 liter of water,30-50mg for 3-5 days.

Swine: for 1 liter of water,20-40mg for 3-5 days.

Adverse reactions: long term use can cause double infection and liver damage.

Note

1.This product is not suitable for use with penicillin drugs, calcium salt, iron salt and multivalent metal ion drugs or feed.

2.It can aggravate the damage of renal function when used with strong diuretic.

3.It should not be mixed with tap water and alkaline solution with more chlorine content.

4.It is forbidden for animals suffering from serious damage of liver and kidney function.

Withdrawal period: 7 days for pigs, 5 days for chickens and 2 days for eggs.
