Product Detail

Composition:Each 100g contains 10g Florfenicol

 Pharmacology and mechanism of action

Florfenicol is a thiamphenicol derivative with the same mechanism of action as chloramphenicol (inhibition of protein synthesis). However, it is more active than either chloramphenicol or thiamphenicol, and may be more bactericidal than previously thought against some pathogens (e.g., BRD pathogens). Florfenicol has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity that includes all organisms sensitive to chloramphenicol, gram-negative bacilli, gram-positive cocci, and other atypical bacteria such as mycoplasma

Indication:

Antibacterial mainly uses for treatment the symptoms of pericarditis, perihepatitis, salpigitis,  yolk peritonitis, enteritis, airsacculitis, arthritis for mycoplasma caused by gram positive and negative bacteria which susceptible to Antibacterial.such as E.coli, salmonella, pasteurella multocida, streptococcus, haemophilus paragallinarum, mycoplasma, etc.

Microbiology:

Florfenicol is a synthetic , broad- spectrum antibiotic active against many gram-negative and grampositive bacteria isolated from domestic animals. It is primaril bacteriostatic and acts by binding to the 50s ribosomal subunit and inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. In vitro and in vivo activity has been demonstrated against commonly isolated bacterial pathogens involved in bovine respiratory disease (BBD) including Pasteurella haemonlytica, pasteurella multocida.and Haemophilus somnus, as well as against commonly isolated bacterial pathogens involved in bovine interdigital phlegmon including Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus.

Florfenicol is to be fed at 20 to 40g (20ppm-40ppm) per ton feed.
